One-man play · Fringe festival tour

Fragments.

A Camden story. One man, one mic, and every truth he never said out loud. What a scene from Camden would feel like — live, up close, and stripped back to bone.

Fragments poster — a one-man play written and performed by Brad Songhurst. A smoky stage floor shows a flight case covered in band stickers, a silhouetted performer in black Vans hi-tops, an electric guitar on a stand, a vintage microphone, a Jack Daniel's bottle, guitar picks, and a crumpled setlist with song titles.

Fragments: A Camden Story is an intimate one-man play exploring the silent battles many men fight but rarely speak about. Through a blend of spoken word, music and cinematic storytelling, it follows a man confronting the fractured pieces of his identity as he reflects on love, failure, ambition and the weight of the life he thought he would have by now.

Set against the backdrop of Camden's music scene, Fragments explores the fear of growing older, the pressure to keep proving your worth, and the toxic patterns we inherit that quietly shape our relationships and sense of self. It asks what happens when the version of yourself you've spent years performing begins to fall apart, and whether it's possible to rebuild before it's too late.

Raw, honest and emotionally charged, Fragments is a story about masculinity, grief, purpose and hope. It is a reminder that being strong is not about carrying everything alone, but having the courage to face the parts of yourself you've spent a lifetime trying to hide.

"On a stage scattered with relics from his past, a man opens up about forgotten dreams, heartbreak, aging, and silent mental health battles. He realises it may be the hardest gig of his life."
